Xydexx Squeakypony (XydexxUnicorn) is a silly lavender inflatable unicorn character who was created by Karl Xydexx Jorgensen on December 13, 1993. He was orginally white with a black mane, but turned lavender in May 2003. He resides on FurryMUCK in a fieldstone house near the Multi-Road Intersection.

Xydexx's backstory is that he used to be the mascot for the Matteawan Rubber Company in upstate New York. After the company closed in the early 1970s, Xydexx found temporary work overseas in the films of Moldavian animator Adrian Vonner, most notably Mr Squeakypony meets Herr Pin. He has also made several appearances in Jim Groat's web comic West Corner of the Park.

Xydexx is a personal furry, and like his creator tends to be friendly and optimistic. Xydexx is known for his sayings "Be good, have fun, fill your world with awesome." and "Surround yourself with good furries, and be one yourself."

Karl Xydexx Jorgensen

Karl Xydexx Jorgensen is a writer, artist, and fandom organizer. He writes a little, draws a little, and procrastinates a lot. He isn't really an inflatable unicorn; he just plays one on the internet.

Xydexx has been an enthusiastic participant in Furry fandom since December 1993. Xydexx spent his early years volunteering behind the scenes helping out with art show setup or the Masquerade. He maintained the webpage for the DC-Area Furry Mailing List from 1998 to 2001.

Xydexx is an outspoken critic of anti-furries and other attempts to divide the fandom. He is a longtime supporter of Furry Peace and improving furry fandom to make it "a cool place for everyone who likes anthropomorphic animals."

Xydexx was an early advocate of panels to welcome new convention attendees, and strongly supported creating Media Liaison positions for furry conventions and instituting policies to control exploitative media crews.

Xydexx supports distributing positive, accurate information about Furry fandom as far and wide as possible. In 1999, he created the Furry Fandom Infocenter, a resource for people new to or curious about Furry fandom.

Xydexx dislikes flamewars and usually drops out of them in favor of doing better things with his time. In 2000, he voted in support of creation of the moderated newsgroup rec.arts.furry in hopes of providing a flame-free alternative to alt.fan.furry.

Xydexx joined Anthrocon's staff in 2002 to serve as Editor-in-Chief for the conbook, and the following year he was promoted to the Board of Directors. Xydexx served as Anthrocon's Publications Director from 2003 to 2018, and has also served as Anthrocon's media liaison, and has been quoted in several local and international news articles as a result.

Xydexx does not have his own fursuit (yet). He has worn one previously in 2003 at the DooDah Parade in Ocean City, NJ and at Meat and Fire III at Glen Echo Park. In December 2004, Xydexx attended at SMOFcon 22.

Xydexx's Axiom of Fandom Enjoyability

Xydexx's Axiom of Fandom Enjoyability, a series of essays initially developed in 1999 and later expanded, states: "If you hang around with a bunch of people who go around saying how much Furry fandom sucks, you will eventually start to believe it's true. If you try to convince a bunch of people who enjoy saying Furry fandom sucks that it isn't true, you're wasting time that would better be spent hanging around with people who are actually fun to hang around with."

Or, more succinctly: "It's better to be a silly squeaky pony than a bitter old dinosaur."

Xydexx believes living well is the best revenge, which is why he's been able to enjoy the amazing, creative, thriving subculture of Furry fandom for more than two decades.

Furries are the only good things.

Furry Convention Attendance

Xydexx attended his first Furry convention, Furtasticon, in 1994. He typically attends conventions as a sponsor or supersponsor.

In 2003 and 2006, Xydexx organized the Mine Fire Fur Meet, an excursion to Centralia, Pennsylvania, an abandoned town which is the site of an underground mine fire.
